the big bang theory

“so if a photon is directed through a plane with two slits in it and either slit is observed, it will not go through both slits. if it’s unobserved, it will. however, if it’s obsered after it’s left the plane but before it hits it’s target, it will not have gone through both slits.”

“agreed….what’s your point?”

“there’s no point. i just think it’s a good idea for a t-shirt.”

“why don’t you just have breakfast in bed?”

“because i am niether an invalid nor a woman celebrating mother’s day.”

“let me guess…you have a problem with this.”

“where do i begin?”

“it’s up to you. crazy person’s choice.”

“well first, we don’t have houseguests. frankly, if i could afford the rent, i’d ask you to leave.”

“your friendship means a lot to me as well. what else?”

“well…our earthquake supplies. we have a two man, two day kit!”

“so..?”

“so, if there is an earthquake and the three of us are trapped here, we could be out of food by tomorrow afternoon.”

“i’m sorry, are you suggesting that if we let penny stay here that we might succumb to cannibalism?”

“no one ever thinks it’ll happen until it does.”

“ok this cereal has lost all of it’s moluecular integrity. i know have a bowl of shredded wheat paste.”

“well penny you’re always welcome to stay with us.”

“oh terrific. now we’re running acute little b&b.”

“well it’s all settled then, christy will stay at howard’s, penny can go home, and i will finish watching the last 24 minutes of dr. who; all though at this point it’s now more like ‘dr. why bother’ “.

another video

i’m not exactly fond of just borrowing other people’s stuff to fill space on my blog. this is theoretically supposed to be about my thoughts and my life. but i guess this is related somehow because i thought it was great. anyway, here’s the video.  my job synopsis will be happening tomorrow evening after i sleep in, do errands, and enjoy my saturday.

tribute to a classic

i was surfing digg videos a couple of days ago when a video title caught my eye and peaked interest immediately. it made reference to a life-size x-wing rocket that someone had built and launched. so i watched it. here it is for you to enjoy.

i was a little disappointed when it broke apart but still gave mental kudos to the builder on the attempt. then this video popped up several days later.

i love creative people.  i really don’t need to say anymore.  by the way, i’m going to blog about my new job either friday night or saturday.

let’s find real talent please

there is nothing that gets on my nerves more than when something is sold, promoted, or “praised” because involved in the product is a girl (or guy for that matter) that is pleasing to the eye. i hate it when they sell soda based on 4 girls dancing rather than convincing me that it tasted better than the rest. i cringe when i see beauty being used as a tool or as leverage to rise higher in the ranks of society. not that i’m against beauty or beautiful people. that’s not what i meant. i just wish that we would grow up enough to be able to buy products based on their worthiness and not on what hot model is advertising it or what celebrity says he uses it.

i won’t really rant about that now though. this post is actually designed to be a humorous one and the video will explain all. it’s kind of amazing when you think about what we can do with computers these days. all they really need to make a pop star is a hot body. that’s what the above paragraph was about. wouldn’t it be nice if the only “talent” we were exposed to was real talent? because you know it’s out there. nickel creek, or the 5 browns, or the many symphonies around the world, they exhibit years of practice and work at what they perform. and that’s just music. what about art or literature? so much gets passed off these days as “quality works” when anybody could have painted it (just look at the clayton state walls for some perfect examples). and it takes more to be a poem than rhyming. even all prose can’t be considered poetry. i feel that poetry should be classified as such when it evokes an emotion from the reader.

well, i guess i did rant. oh well. i hope you enjoy the video! :)
